Complete Christian Study of Saint John
[READING: Saint John 1:1-5]

Life and light

Welcome to the study of the Gospel of John by author Javier R. Cinacchi. Online for years, and with continuous improvements, I recommend re-reading from time to time to go retaining more concepts.

Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Joh 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
Joh 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Here Jesus is mentioned as the Word (also eg Revelation 19:9-13 so you can check). It's the creator Word of God, that with authority becomes part of the life of a christian (Revelation 3:20), to bring light and life (John 10:9-10), dissolving all darkness (1:5, John 10:9-10).
Another translation from 1:5 is: "And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not". "Comprehended the light" means that you have to admit to Jesus in His condition as God's Son, accept His salvation, and comply with His word, having repented oneself from sins committed. The book of John talks about it, shows evidences, tells the happened and it teach as follow Jesus Christ. For that His light illuminated to a christian, must understand it and do according to what He says (accept to Him), not otherwise.

Bible versicle related: "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" John 14:6

The Bible says, before nothing is the Word (1:1) Let's see an approximate comparation to view the unity between God and Jesus (The Word), part from the doctrine of The Trinity from which some religions isn't agree, is the following -I'm starting with this issue because like this, starts the Gospel of St. John-: They are one only, like is a father and his son that gets along well, carrying out an enterprise, where both of them have the same authority. What employee, being the son or the father, the owner doesn't would respect the decisions from one or another? Sure that "the employee" in such enterprise, is who has offered, in this case, to his Salvation, becoming christian. The Father and the Son are the Creators, and They're who give the Salvation, They mark the way. What the Bible refers here, is the unity between God and Jesus -From which it will return further on-, and that Jesus borns from Father of a very special way; unique. Thus begins the message of the Gospel of John, it explaining that Jesus Christ has the uppermost authority (Creator next to Father).

All things were made for God (1:3), who was since the beginning (1:2), and Who is the beginning and end of all (Apocalipsis 21:5-6). I won't here to comment on different theories about the creation of world, in accordance with different thinking ways. Simply, I say the next, without intention to offend. In the case of atheists , many times scientists, already had changed of theories (and is excellent to recognize mistakes). It can be so valid a theory from them, such as the one from a christian, even, someday, both of them could get close, and actually, some people supports that God could have used some theory from the many that analyze the scientists. Who was there for watch it?. The answer is, or nobody, or God. The christian believes that God is the beginning of everything, and therefore, the causative of the Creation.

I think: Be from way that has been made the Creation, it doesn't affect to faith, any scientific theory about it, nor faith on science regarding this point. However, there is a difference of thought at some points of the theory of evolution, already the Christian says God created man, and in the case of the evolutionist says: The man evolved from bacteria millions of years ago. That is, in evolutionary theory, one thing leads to another, so much so that in a million years from a bacterium (or bug very tiny and basic), which was formed in the water ... it was evolving ... and it became different complex beings ... by evolution and natural selection ...
And the Bible says, "God created .." and then explains, among other things, the happened, about how evil entered the world, and the Salvation of God (recurring theme). In the Bible, the most important is God's dealings with men, what keep us away and what bring us near to Him. Is clear the difference, so, each person explains the facts according to his way of thinking, beliefs and perspectives. And the dinosaurs in the creation? What relation have dinosaurs with the doctrine of Jesus? However, I think, that dinosaurs existed because fossils found, but I'm not sure if humans existed alongside these giants, for more they have found some than other things buried, and was interpreted that way. But clarify, I'm not interested so much the subject of atheistic theories for investigate thoroughly, and isn't the purpose of the Biblical comments, just I mention it for take into account that in the creation, God could have done anything he wanted, however, the Christian thinks, "God created..."

(1:4)If God created, and He is the source of all the good, and obviously, in Him is the life and light of all person. Outside Him, there is only confusion and darkness (Matthew 8:10-12 "Outside is darkness") There is no clarity, peace, joy, faith, meekness, that it is consequence of having God in oneself, that is, be filled with the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). And with this, I don't want to say that a non-religious person can not have peace, joy, etc.. Personally I believe God is among men ... and total darkness, comes after the final trial, but I don't want to divert much of the main theme. People without God (in the sense of not seeing religious truth) according to the biblical perspective: in darkness, are devoid from fruits of the Holy Spirit and Salvation. The good news is that "the light shines in the darkness". Then "darkness comprehended it not" (1:5) This part is translated differently in different translations, some translate, "has not overcome" or "did not prevail". God doesn't force, He invites: (Matthew 11:28-29).

Thus, we started ... for be this, the first reading, I extended a little more. I beg that Light of Jesus shines in your life. It's important to know that we must to comply with the God's will, of course, to accept Him first, and therefore, to His Will. If God says don't commit adultery (Matthew 5:27-28), to name one of his commandments, do it, 'cause doing the opposite, it's rejecting His Word, His Son and to the Holy Spirit, therefore to God same, our Creator. The life and light of God won't shine on someone who isn't in His Will. But not to be discouraged, 'cause if you want to be with God (1:5) "The Light shines in the darkness". If our perception is good, it'll recognize the Light and it'll be filled with it. (Matthew 6:22). I invite you to continue this study of Gospel of St. John. It's a wonderful thing that would bring immense joy to your life.

The Bible says:
1.Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
